Steve Yzerman is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played his entire 22-year career as the captain of the Detroit Red Wings of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is considered one of the greatest players in the history of the sport and is a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. Yzerman won several awards and honors during his career, including the Selke Trophy as the NHL’s best defensive forward, and he led the Red Wings to three Stanley Cup championships. After retiring as a player, he became general manager of the Tampa Bay Lightning, before returning to Detroit in a similar capacity.
